National Mathematics Olympiad. Grantleigh Schools Shine at SA Mathematics Olympiad Finals.
Grantleigh Schools in KwaZulu-Natal are celebrating a remarkable academic triumph as six of their learners were selected among the top 100 in the province to compete in the prestigious South African Mathematics Olympiad Team Competition Finals, held on Saturday, 13 September 2025.
The event kicked off with individual rounds, where Le Kai Chen delivered a historic performance—achieving a perfect score of 100% in the Senior Individual Category. This extraordinary feat earned him 1st place and a coveted spot on the KZN A Team for Seniors.
Other standout Grantleigh learners included:
- Hanyi Fang – KZN B Team (Juniors)
- Yeshav Singh – KZN B Team (Seniors)
- Mirav Singh and Nthutuko Mchunu – KZN C Team
- Siphokuhle Makhanya – KZN D Team (Seniors)
The KZN A Team, featuring Le Kai Chen, went on to secure an impressive 3rd place nationally, showcasing the province’s mathematical prowess on a national stage.
