Hull International Choir Competition. Die Tygerberg kinderkoor van Kaapstad, onder leiding van Karina Erasmus en begeleier Madri Gerber het in Hull, UK aan die Hull International Choir Competition deelgeneem. TKK is ook die enigste koor van Afrika wat by hierdie kompetisie deelgeneem het. Die koor het teen 26 kore van 9 ander lande deelgeneem. Vier lede van die koor, Ziané Grebe, Ruzel Versfeld, Keren Roman en Emma De Vos is leerders van Laerskool De Tyger.
Tygerberg kinderkoor is gekroon as die kategorie-wenners in die kinderkoor-afdeling! Verder het die koor ook die tweede plek verwerf in die Sacred afdeling. In albei het die koor goud verower!Â
“Ons, die ouers van Laerskool De Tyger, is ongelooflik trots op ons Tiertjies en hul mede Tygerberg kinderkoorlede met die uitmuntende prestasie.. Baie ure se oefen en uitstekende dissipline het julle nie gestuit om aan Afrika te bewys dat julle die beste is nie. Baie geluk, julle maak Suid-Afrika trots. Mag julle raakgesien word en jul drome om in die World Choir Games in 2024 te mag deelneem, bewaarheid word.”Â
Hull International Choir Competition. The Tygerberg Children’s Choir of Cape Town, under the baton of Karina Erasmus and accompanist Madri Gerber, participated in the Hull International Choir Competition in Hull, UCT. The Tygerberg Children’s Choir is also the only choir from Africa to have participated in this competition. The choir competed against 26 choirs from 9 other countries. Four members of the choir, Ziané Grebe, Ruzel Versfeld, Keren Roman and Emma De Vos are learners of De Tyger Primary School.
Tygerberg Children’s Choir was crowned the category winners in the children’s choir category! Furthermore, the choir also earned second place in the Sacred section. In both, the choir won gold!

Many hours of practice and excellent discipline did not stop you from proving to Africa that you are the best. Congratulations, you are making South Africa proud.
