Banhoek Schools MTB Race. MTB Success at Banhoek.
Somerset College’s are tearing up the trails! The College is proud to celebrate the grit, speed, and team spirit shown by our riders at the recent Banhoek Schools MTB Race. It was a day filled with podium finishes and unforgettable performances.
Race Highlights
- Thomas Yeats (Grade 5): Secured his very first podium with a fantastic 4th place finish! It was a nail-biter, with Thomas just barely out-sprinted for 3rd at the line.
- Emily Yeats (Grade 8): Continued her clinical form, claiming 3rd place in a fiercely competitive category.
- The U11 Dream Team: Thomas Yeats, Daniel Classen, and Joshua Nel are proving themselves unstoppable. They are currently sitting 2nd overall in the Schools Competition – a massive achievement given the depth of the field.
Save the Date
Somerset College would love to see more of the school community out on the tracks to support these incredible athletes. Mountain biking is a growing sport, and the atmosphere at these races is electric.
- Next Race: 16 May @ Rhebokskloof
- Following Race: 22 August @ Wellington
☕ Grab your coffee, head to the mountains, and come cheer on the riders as they push for those top spots!
