schoolsthatrockNamibia National Junior Chess. On March 9, the Namibia National Junior Chess Championships Open was held at Windhoek Gymnasium Curro Primary School. James Diën, Grade 4, secured his place to participate in the Namibian National Junior Chess Championships Closed. It will be held in Swakopmund from March 29 to 31, 2024.
James cemented his position as the country’s top u.10 boy player by claiming 1st place with a score of 6½ points out of 7 classical rounds.
With this achievement, James secured his spot as an official player to represent Namibia at the African Youth Chess Championships. It will be held in Johannesburg in June 2024. He will also compete at the World Cadets Chess Championships, scheduled for September/October 2024.

Met hierdie prestasie het James sy plek as amptelike speler verseker om Namibië te verteenwoordig by die Afrikaanse Jeugskaak kampioenskappe. Dit word gedurende Junie in Johannesburg aangebied. James sal ook aan die Wêreldkadette Skaakkampioenskappe deelneem wat geskeduleer is vir 29 tot 31 Maart.
