Fencing Junior African Championships. Ewan Kruger (15), a Grade 10 learner in Curro Durbanville High School, represented South Africa at the Fencing Junior African Championships 2023. held in Accra. The championship took place in Ghana from 15 to 21 February 2023.

Ewan competed in the following events:

Men’s Epee Under 20 Individual: He placed 6th out of 22 participants from eight countries, which earned him his opening position on the FIE International ranking table.
Men’s Epee Under 20 Team: The Under 20 Team managed a third place (Bronze medal).
Men’s Epee Under 17 Individual: He placed third out of 17 participants from six countries (Bronze medal), which is an improvement of two places from the previous year.
Men’s Epee Under 17 Team: The Under 17 Team placed 2nd (Silver medal).
