Curro Rivonia.
Curro Holdings, the JSE-listed independent school group, is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Zain Strydom as Executive Head of Curro Rivonia in Sandton, Johannesburg.
The eminently qualified Strydom holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Economic Sciences from the University of Johannesburg. He also holds a certificate in School Management and Education Leadership from Harvard Business School and Harvard Graduate School of Education. He will begin his new tenure in January 2023.
Strydom’s career has been a blend of teaching, examining, moderating, extra-murals and administrative duties. He also ran his own business. From 2008 to 2019, he was the Campus Deputy: Academic Administration – Early Childhood Development (ECD), Preparatory School and High School – at Redhill High School in Johannesburg. He then was promoted to Head of Campus: ECD, Preparatory School and High School at Reddford House, Blue Hills.
Reddford House
During his time at Reddford House, Strydom was solely responsible for the strategic leadership across the campus. It included the impressive growth in learner enrolment. He held overall accountability for direction, standards, and quality of education.
Speaking of his appointment, Strydom says “I am thrilled to be starting the new academic year with Curro Rivonia. I care deeply about providing all my learners with the very best education possible to prepare them for an unknown future. Learners, parents, and teachers at Rivonia should expect a peoples’ person. I am also well known for exuding warmth and genuine affection for those entrusted to my care. Furthermore I love nothing more than sharing knowledge and enriching the lives of others around me. I am excited for the triumphs, as well as the challenges which lie ahead at Curro Rivonia,” he adds.
Business owner
As a business owner, Strydom remains incredibly passionate and enthusiastic about teaching business studies. He has authored and co-authored several school textbooks in the fields of economic management, science, business studies, and critical thinking. He also participated in the Leadership Development Programme at Wits Business School.
His unwavering commitment to the field of education led to his involvement with the independent Education Board (IEB). There he has served as cluster leader, national and regional conference convenor and regional portfolio moderator. He also was internal ABET moderator and national subject forum representative and IEB NSC and ISC Business Studies paper examiner.
