“My name is Jehan Thipanyane-Said and I’m the head of belonging for 2023. My goal this year is to ensure that every boy at Hilton College, no matter what his background, has a sense of belonging here.
Having come from a co-ed school and a mixed background, I struggled to adapt to life at Hilton. But, my matric mentor, Kopano Segoale, helped me find my path. Over time, I went from being a small, scared kid to a boy who uses his voice to speak up for those who feel like small, scared kids.
I also try to help such boys find their voices and their way at Hilton.”
