schoolsthatrockLaser SA Champs. Grade 11 Camps Bay High School learner, Chiara Ross sailed the 2021 Laser South African Championships. The Laser SA Champs took place from 1 to 4 October offshore Mandela Bay in Gqeberha. The first 3 days of the event were in strong wind conditions as Gqeberha is well known for. Chiara finished 10th overall, 5th girl over the line and that after day one where the Rescue Teams were busy all over the regatta course helping the sailors, including Chiara, with the challenging conditions and plenty of capsizes.
Said Camps Bay High School Head of Sport, Ms Busi Ngcwama, “We are incredibly proud of Chiara for doing so well in this tough National Competition. We wish her the best of luck for her next event. The Youth Nationals will be held in Hermanus from the 16 to 22 December 2021. There, she will be competing on her Laser again.”
