Die Nasionale Landsdiensprojek – “Koekies vir werkers in die voorste linies” het tot ‘n einde gekom. Dit is in samewerking met die Laerskool Aliwal-Noord aangepak.
Die Landsdieners van Laerskool Aliwal-Noord het in Maart die projek afgeskop. Hulle het bestanddele ingesamel, wat in Julie aan die Hoërskool oorhandig is vir die groot bak.
Gedurende die tweede week van Augustus het Landsdieners van Hoërskool Aliwal-Noord begin bak aan die 5000 koekies. Dié groepie pligsgetroue Landsdieners is deur hulle ma’s en landsdiensonderwysers bygestaan met die bakkery. Die koekies is mooi verpak met ‘n kaartjie aangeheg vir die uitdeelslag.
On Wednesday 25 August the 500 packets of biscuits were handed out to our frontliners. It was a token of appreciation, a way to say “thank you” to the frontliners for the hard work, long hours and stress-filled days during these unprecedented times.
Alheit van der Merwe Primary School
Alheit van der Merwe Primary School, who is going through a rough time, was also in our thoughts. The Land Service Members brought tins of non-perishable food to donate to the children at the Primary School, and we added some of the biscuits as a special treat.
