The Grade 7 boys in front of the parliament building
“The Grade 7 Cape Expedition 2019 got off to a busy start with the tour group being whisked off to the Chris Barnard Heart Museum on landing. The week that followed was packed with excitement, challenges and experiences. With a trip up the newly refurbished Table Mountain Cable Way, tobogganing, a visit to parliament, a hands-on experience with sharks, big cat feedings and many other incredible moments, the boys returned home to share many a story. Some hard-fought tussles on the hockey pitches, rugby fields, squash courts and around the chess boards took place over the course of the week. The team spirit amongst the group and between the various schools was evident before, during and after matches.
The growth evident in these young men over the course of the expedition is often very clearly noticeable. With many being stretched beyond their comfort zones, it is always amazing to see the outcomes. To hear from host families about our boys’ courtesy and respect always gives us much to be proud of.” – Mr Brett Sliedrecht (Head of the Senior Primary School)
