schoolsthatrockZiggy Borstlap (Grade 11) took part in the Top 20 Inter Schools Surf Competition – the best 20 surfers were chosen for the Inter Schools Tag Team League on Friday 1 June. This took place at New Pier in shallow, clear but testing conditions. Although Ziggy did not get into the finals, the strong competition faced can only benefit his surfing career.
The previous Sunday 27 May, Ziggy took part in UGU Surf Trials (Lower South Coast) at St Michaels. This is to earn a provincial place in the Southern KZN Team to go to SA Champs. Ziggy placed first and second in his two heats.
With a trip planned to Jeffery’s Bay during the School Holidays, Ziggy continues to gain invaluable experience in the highly competitive world of Junior Surfing.
