Amy Webster, campaign driver of YouthForLions addressed the St Charles College, Grade 10 Geography class recently and encouraged the boys to find out more about the industry, and how they can make a difference in the campaign.
The YouthForLions objective is to create awareness among the global youth about the captive-bred lion hunting industry in South Africa. The focus is on raising awareness about the realities of predator visiting facilities, cub petting, lion walking and volunteering at these facilities – all of which contribute to the canned hunting industries. A number of the boys signed the YouthForLions pledge. Amy presented the class with a copy of the award-wining documentary Blood Lions® that has achieved a number of awards, been broadcast on Discovery Channel and DSTV, and screened at numerous local and international film festivals.– Prof Trevor Hill (Head of Geography)
