St Andrew’s School for Girls celebrated its 118th birthday at a special ceremony on Founders’ Day on 22 January. They gave thanks to all those who lay the foundations of this steadfast school, and blessed those who are ensuring its sustainability for the future.

Thirty years ago, the previous late Head, Mr Frank Simmonds, initiated the pioneering programme of their Saturday School, uBambiswano. St Andrew’s used today’s celebrations to honour the 30th anniversary of uBambiswano, and gave thanks to those who have been instrumental in driving the programme and making a difference to the lives of so many. Blessings and birthday wishes were read out to uBambiswano, and we introduced the concept of #30blessings30years.
