Neurodiversity Awareness Week. Celebrating our Neurodiversity week.

Neurodiversity is the recognition that differences in human brain function are natural and that variations in thinking, learning, and information processing—such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia—are part of the rich diversity of human experience. This year, Michaelhouse proudly embraced the theme of “Celebrating our Neurodiversity” during its .

Highlights of the Week

  • Assembly Presentation: The boys were introduced to the concept of neurodiversity through an informative presentation. Emphasizing the importance of recognizing our unique gifts and supporting one another.
  • Discussion Groups: Several small-group sessions provided opportunities to share experiences and ask questions. The boys learned more about neurodiversity in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Guest Contributions:
    • Mr. Graeme Lucas-Bull, a much-loved Mathematics teacher and coach, offered practical advice and encouragement to the boys.
    • Mr. Greg Wynne (Pascoe, 1995) hosted a lively Q&A session, sharing his personal experiences and answering thoughtful questions from the students.

Community Spirit

The overriding message of the week was clear: while we may differ in how we think and learn, we all belong to one interconnected Michaelhouse community. This spirit was joyfully expressed through “Funky Sock Day”, where boys and staff alike donned colorful socks to symbolize individuality and unity.
