SA Schools Boat Race. What a weekend on the Kowie!
A huge congratulations to the DSG First Quad on their commanding victory in the Women’s C Final at the South African Schools Boat Race 2025. Racing against Clarendon at 13:30 on Saturday, 6 December 2025, the girls delivered a performance defined by confidence, composure, and precision.
DSG also salutes Clarendon — their Eastern Cape sister school — for a race that showcased the grit, determination, and camaraderie that make school rowing so special.
Adding to the excitement, their mixed reserves produced a courageous and determined effort. After an unexpected encounter with a sandbank cost them the lead, they regrouped, fought back, and crossed the line with the kind of heart and resilience they deeply admire. It was a valiant performance from start to finish.
The weekend’s results have firmly placed DSG Rowing back on the map.
Well done to the Girls in Green — and to every supporter who lined the riverbanks or joined them via the live stream. Your voices carried the DSG Gees all the way down the Kowie!
