ISA World Junior Surfing. Merrifield College Celebrates Taylor Emslie’s International Surfing Achievement 🌊
Merrifield College, East London, proudly sends its best wishes to Grade 10 student Taylor Emslie. She embarks on an incredible journey to the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships. It’s taking place in Peru from 5 – 15 December 2025.
At just 16 years old, Taylor has earned her place on the South African Junior Surfing Team. It is a remarkable achievement that highlights her dedication, talent, and passion for the sport. Competing against the world’s best young surfers, she will carry the South African flag with pride and determination.
Taylor’s selection follows a string of strong performances on the junior circuit. It includes appearances at the Ballito Pro Junior and eThekwini Pro Junior, where she showcased her consistency and competitive spirit. Ranked among the top junior surfers in South Africa, she has already made her mark internationally. Her best heat scores exceeded 8 points.
The South African Junior Team heading to Peru comprises 12 surfers across the U16 and U18 divisions, reflecting the depth of talent in the country’s surfing community. Taylor’s inclusion is not only a personal milestone but also a proud moment for Merrifield College and the East London surfing community.
