Rotary Debate League finals. SACS is delighted to announce that our Senior Debating Team—Luke Rowe and James Prins (Grade 12), along with Sam Redfern (Grade 10)—has claimed a spectacular victory in the Rotary Debate League finals!
The final showdown took place on Monday, 15 August, at Rondebosch Boys’ High School. The team faced off against Parklands College in a fiercely contested debate. Arguing the motion “This House supports the modern revival of Esotericism,” our debaters delivered incisive arguments. They also demonstrated strategic clarity and showcased exceptional teamwork throughout.
This achievement is especially significant, marking SACS’s first Rotary League title since 2013—a proud milestone and a thrilling new chapter for our debating legacy. The win also caps off an outstanding season, further distinguished by Luke Rowe’s selection to the Western Province debating squad.
