Rugby Noordvaal Cup. The Noordvaal Cup Round of 16 delivered excitement, heartbreak, and triumph for Midstream College. Four of its teams took to the field on Saturday in a high-stakes battle for quarterfinal glory.
- U14 Victory at Home. With grit and determination, Midstream’s U14s defended home turf in style, edging out Ellisras 14-8 in a tightly contested match. The team’s discipline and teamwork were on full display, securing their spot in the quarterfinals.
- U15s Face the Storm. Playing in bitterly cold, windswept conditions in Meyerton, the U15s battled valiantly against a tough Dr Malan outfit. Despite a spirited effort, they fell short with a 25-38 defeat — a scoreline that doesn’t reflect the heart they poured into every tackle.
- U16s Take the Fight to Brandwag. The U16s hit the road to take on Brandwag on the East Rand. In a match filled with intensity, Midstream went down 10-17, showing strong character against a formidable opponent.
- First Team’s Thriller in Sasolburg. The clash in Sasolburg was one for the books. With the lead changing hands repeatedly, the crowd was kept on edge until the final whistle. Leading 34-29 in the dying minutes, Midstream capitalized on a botched home-side play, snatching possession and storming downfield for a spectacular try. The scoreboard locked at 39-29, sending Midstream’s first team soaring into the quarterfinals.
Onward to the Quarterfinals!
Both the U14s and First Team move forward to the next round this Saturday:

Midstream’s rugby warriors continue their quest — with tenacity in their stride and victory in sight!
