Pearson High School, Gqeberha is beaming with pride as Grade 12 learner Keira van Heerden earns a coveted spot on South Africa’s national team for the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships. The championships is set to take place in Otopeni, Romania from 19 to 24 August 2025.
This elite international event is hosted by World Aquatics. It brings together the most talented young swimmers from across the globe. Keira’s selection also places her among the best junior athletes in the world. This is a remarkable feat that speaks volumes of her relentless work ethic, perseverance, as well as exceptional performance in the pool over recent years.
Keira has a string of provincial and national accolades under her belt. She has steadily made waves in South Africa’s competitive swimming circuit. Her dedication to balancing academics with the rigours of elite sport has inspired not only her peers but the broader school community.
