Junior Springbok Rugby team. Old Greys Shine Bright: Four Make Junior Springboks.
It’s a moment of immense pride for Grey College and the greater rugby community. Four 2023 Old Grey players, I. van der Merwe, J. Erasmus, JJ. Theron, and E. Visser have been selected to represent South Africa in the Junior Springbok team.
This prestigious selection is no small feat. It speaks volumes of the talent, grit, and passion these young men have shown on and off the field. Their commitment to excellence has not only earned them national recognition but has also inspired a new generation of aspiring players walking the halls of Grey.
“As an institution known for breeding rugby excellence, we are beaming with pride,” said a representative from the school. “These boys have worn the Grey jersey with honor, and now they’ll wear green and gold for the country — what a journey!”
From dazzling runs and rock-solid defense to leadership under pressure, each of these players has left an indelible mark on school rugby. Now, with the Junior Boks, they carry forward not just their personal dreams, but the legacy of all Old Greys before them.
