Schools Cricket. The Creston College, KZN, U11A cricket team played a Schools Cricket game vs Izotsha.
Under 13 6-a-side tournament
Creston batted first and set a formidable total of 115 for 2 in their 20 overs. Matthew Keudel-Schaffer scored 20 not out, Lingcwele Dandala added 23 not out, and Imraan Khan contributed 15 not out. Special mention goes to Matthew and Lingcwele, who made 75 runs for the opening partnership, both retiring. Creston then bowled Izotsha out for 65 runs with a clinical bowling performance. The standout bowlers were Lingcwele Dandala, who took 2 wickets for 9 runs in 3 overs; Taiy’n Naicker, who took 1 wicket for 8 runs in 3 overs; Imraan Khan, who took 4 wickets for 6 runs in 2.2 overs; and Alwande Ntombela, who took 2 wickets for 5 runs in 2 overs. Creston Under 11A won by 50 runs.
Under 13 6-A-Side tournament
In the first game against Southcity, we lost by 22 runs. In the second game against Suid-Natal A, we lost by 2 wickets. Despite these results, we remain positive and look forward to improving in future matches.
Under 13B vs Izotsha
Creston batted first and ended on 78 for 2 in their 20 overs, with Brode Krause scoring 24 not out. Izotsha managed 68 for 9 in their 20 overs. The standout bowlers for Creston were Brode Krause, who took 4 wickets for 6 runs in 4 overs, and Brody Beekman, who took 3 wickets for 8 runs in 4 overs. Creston Under 13B won by 10 runs.
Other cricket news
The South Coast Fever highlighted six of the Creston cricket players who will be representing The Robbie Coutts Cricket Academy. The Academy is sending two teams to the annual Andile Phehlukwayo Cricket Under 13 Glenwood Cricket Festival, where 20 teams in total will be participating. Creston look forward to hearing how the teams perform. The Creston learners are: Khulu Mlondo, Oliver Z. Smith, Brody Beekman, Marcel van Etteryk, Lutho Menziwa, and Elabo Mgoduka.
